Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry)

Location

• Show Low, Arizona
• Regional hospital in the White Mountains area

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours per shift: 12 hours
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with up to 3 cancellations allowed

Unit and Patient Population

• MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds (heavy telemetry focus)
• Adult patients only; pediatric patients assigned to permanent staff
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU (MedSurg overflow patients)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:5 during day shifts
  • 1:6 during night shifts
  • 1:4 for pediatric patients (not assigned to travelers)

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Med Surg/Telemetry
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required

Required Certifications

• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• PALS preferred but not required

Work Environment and Support

• EMR system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Support staff includes telemetry technicians, charge nurses, health unit coordinators (HUCs), and patient care technicians (PCTs)
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Respiratory therapist and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team available

Dress Code

• Scrub color: any color except all black
• Scrubs not provided
