Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel


Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
  • Number of Beds: 430
  • Staff on Unit: 25
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 3-4 staff
    • Night Shift: 3 staff
  • Patient Load: Approximately 20-25 treatments per round
  • Equipment Used: Oxygen, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, blood gas machines
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Job Responsibilities & Environment

  • Perform procedures including nebulizer treatments, BIPAP/CPAP management, ventilator support, and arterial blood gases
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Rotating weekends required
  • On-call: Preferably one 24-hour shift every 5-6 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Work Hours

  • Approximately 36 hours per week

Dress Code

  • Navy blue scrubs
