Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Position

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 8 weeks
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Shift: Straight nights or 50/50 (night/day split)
  • Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
  • Floating Policy: May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or serve as a sitter anywhere in hospital inpatient units
  • Documentation System: EPIC
  • Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Number of Staff: 46
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:2 typical
    • 1:3 for PCU boarders
    • 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
  • Unit Staffing: 1 CCT/US during day shift if >10 patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Utah
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
  • ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

  • Arterial line placement
  • Chest tube placement
  • Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills
