Registered Nurse (PCU 4N) - Savannah, Georgia

Job Details

• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU 4N)
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 14 weeks
• Unit Size: 12 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
• Orientation:

  • One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
  • Two shifts orientation with preceptor
  • Orientation sessions held bi-weekly

Patient Population & Unit Info

• Combination of Medical-Surgical and Stepdown patients
• Common diagnoses include Med-Surg conditions, Sickle Cell, heart failure
• Telemetry monitoring required (monitored remotely on 3rd floor)
• RN responsibilities include titrating set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs draw their own labs)
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannulas, face masks, BiPAP
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Nurse aides present with a 12:1 patient-to-aide ratio
• Tele monitors brand: Space Lab

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Self-scheduling allowed
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday work required
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required
• Dress code: Navy scrubs

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in PCU or similar hospital setting with solid PCU skillset
• Must have successfully completed at least 1 prior travel nursing contract
• Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity required
• Candidates must pass clinical resume review for facility consideration
• Strict 100-mile radius rule enforced; local candidates will not be considered
