Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Night Shift)
Location: Moab, Utah
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 days on, 7 days off (Nights, 6 PM to 6 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Join a rural medical-surgical nursing team providing direct and indirect patient care across a wide range of patient populations and acuities, including medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, pediatric, and post-partum neonates to geriatrics. Opportunities exist to expand skills in post-partum care, infusion, wound therapies, and cross-train in Emergency Department and PACU.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Utah
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse medication/treatment reactions
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, especially in rapidly changing situations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong customer service and communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
- Professional handling of sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
- Emotional maturity and ability to remain calm and professional under stress
- Reliability and punctuality with work schedule
- Flexibility and willingness to accept additional duties as assigned
