Job Opportunity: Technologist (CT)
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type
- Contract Clinician
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Call schedule includes 1 overnight every 9 weekdays (Monday-Friday) and 1 weekend every 13 weekends
- Employee will always work with at least one other staff member (no solo shifts)
Job Responsibilities
- Perform quality CT exams across all procedures offered by the department
- Procedures include Neuro, Body, MSK, CTAs, IR procedures (biopsies, ablations, drain removals), 3D reformats, colonography, enterography, urograms, trauma scans, and dual energy imaging
- Perform quality assurance (QA) tasks
- Maintain department stock and ensure compliance with standards
- Use GE CT equipment (8 scanners: 4 with 256 slices, 3 with 64 slices, 1 with 16 slices)
- Utilize EPIC EMR, McKesson PACS, and Bar Code Medication Administration systems
- Effective communication with patients, physicians, families, students, and healthcare personnel
- Ability to handle difficult customer interactions and escalate as needed
- Floating within CT department locations under the same management
Orientation and Training
- 6-week orientation for outside candidates including multiple locations
- Assigned preceptor for consistent education and protocol communication
- IV line education and department-specific processes included
- Mid-point progress check at 3 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography and Radiography
- State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred but strongly encouraged)
- Proficient with computers, including basic navigation and email use
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively
- Hospital experience preferred
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
Additional Information
- Dress code: Red scrubs or red t-shirt with employer emblem
- Must disclose any required time off during assignment
- Prior work at this facility within the past 12 months must be disclosed
This position is ideal for a CT Technologist with solid hospital experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center, who is comfortable working nights and participating in a call schedule.
