Description

Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience: ICU experience preferred; MS/SD experience required


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
  • Manage an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene as necessary.
  • Administer prescribed medications, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
  • Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Stepdown (MS/SD) experience within the last year.
  • Med Surg experience.
