    Shift Details

    • 8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30)
    • One 0.8 FTE position (approximately 32 hours/week)

    Job Description

    • Deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care based on established nursing theories and professional practice models.
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients, focusing on physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health and recovery.
    • Formulate and modify nursing care plans based on ongoing patient assessment and communication with the healthcare team.
    • Perform nursing skills and procedures, educate patients and families on health treatments and care needs.
    • Use equipment, instrumentation, and medications safely and competently.
    • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care team members within their legal scope of practice.
    • Advocate for patients’ rights and informed decision-making.
    • Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
    • Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff.
    • Document nursing care according to hospital policies using manual and automated systems.
    • Contribute to positive patient experiences and assist in resolving complaints promptly.
    • Perform all physical duties required by the job, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Maternal-Newborn nursing experience with a minimum of 3 years, including experience within the last year
    • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
    • Graduate of an accredited professional registered nursing program (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing accepted)
    • Certifications required:
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
      • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

    Communication & Other Skills

    • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
    • Ability to facilitate safe patient handoffs and effective interdisciplinary communication.
    • Completion of annual organizational employment requirements.

    Patient Care Accountability

    • Responsible for meeting or exceeding unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals.
    • Understands the impact of personal behavior on patient experience.
    • Investigates and assists in resolving complaints from physicians, employees, and patients.
