Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Overview

  • 34-bed unit providing modified total patient care to general medical/surgical and surgical oncology patients
  • Patient age range: Young Adult (18+) through Very Old Age (75+)
  • 24-hour cardiac telemetry monitoring capability
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Typical staff per night shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Equipment includes Welch Allyn Vital Signs monitors and GE Telemetry Monitoring
  • Electronic Medical Record system: MediTech

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemotherapy certification (required to perform chemotherapy procedures)
  • Medical-Surgical nursing experience

Job Details

  • No on-call required
  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Call requirements: Weekends every other weekend
  • Work environment: Outgoing, team-oriented culture
