Registered Nurse (Med Surg / Neuroscience) - Travel Position
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (3 months)
Job Overview
Provide nursing care on a Neurosurgical Medical Surgical unit focusing on patients with stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, back/head/spinal neurological diagnoses, and neurosurgery procedures. Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care, maintain professional accountability, and coordinate care with other departments.
Unit Information
- Department: Medical Surgical Unit (Neuroscience specialty)
- Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 48 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: As needed (standard expectation of every other full weekend)
- Call Requirements: None
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- EMR System: EPIC
- Equipment: FIT test required on site
- Float Requirements: As needed within scope
- Dress Code: Black scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
Additional Details
- Number of Openings: 2
- Requested time off: Up to 5 days per 13-week assignment can be automatically approved; additional time off requires approval and must be made up
- Patient Population: Neuro-surgical patients including those with stroke, seizures, MS, and neurosurgical procedures
