Description
Emergency Room Registered Nurse - Night Shift
Location: Craig, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Hours per Week: 32
Job Summary
Coordinate and implement individualized patient care plans using the nursing process. Work independently in a fast-paced environment, applying critical thinking and prioritization to optimize patient outcomes. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality care including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support. Provide patient and family education tailored to their needs. May delegate care to ancillary personnel and precept students or new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Minimum of one (1) year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Two (2) years hospital nursing experience
- One (1) year Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care Nursing experience
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments
- Use evidence-based practices to collaborate with healthcare team members
- Identify and address communication barriers related to psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural factors
- Provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition
- Delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel as appropriate
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical nursing standards
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, education, and quality improvement initiatives
- Follow infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to ensure a safe environment
Work Environment & Expectations
- Full-time night shift position
- Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, and effective time management
- Adhere to organizational dress code and professional conduct standards
- Maintain punctuality and complete assigned duties within established timeframes
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
No prior travel experience is required for this position.
