Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Abingdon, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 4x10 hour shifts, Days (7 AM - 5 PM)
• Call: Average 10 days in 6 weeks
• Weekends: Every third weekend (included in call shifts)
• Floating required between two regional facilities, including cath lab holding

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia with NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, including Diagnostic and Interventional settings
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Experience in Pre/Post Procedure Cath Lab patient care
• Prior travel nursing experience with at least one completed travel assignment
• Experience in Charge nurse roles within Cath Lab settings
• Current American Heart Association certifications: ACLS and BLS

Orientation & Additional Information

• General orientation begins on Mondays; includes 16 hours of non-billable online training
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional shifts may be available as overtime and are flexible based on hospital needs

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification required
• Various health and safety certifications and documentation including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug screening within 14 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, TB screening
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Respirator medical evaluation and fit testing completed onsite
• Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing
• Compliance with facility-specific dress code, uniform guidelines, and safety policies

Experience & Skills

• Prior travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Charge nurse experience mandatory
• Proficient in cath lab procedures and patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath settings
• Ability to float between multiple facilities and adapt to varying work environments
