Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, and professional development within a practice governance framework.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
  • Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
  • Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Acute care nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
