Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinic

Location: Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week


Job Summary

Provide nursing care in primary and specialty outpatient clinics focusing on patient wellness, acute illness, chronic disease, disability, and end-of-life needs. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient advocacy, care coordination, continuity, and education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and document focused patient data, including physical assessments and pain levels.
  • Complete flow sheets and maintain accurate medication profiles in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Perform patient assessments during triage and analyze data to determine health promotion and diagnostic needs.
  • Monitor lab and diagnostic results daily; communicate abnormal results to providers.
  • Coordinate care delivery across healthcare settings and promote individual and community wellness.
  • Ensure safe patient care in compliance with nursing standards, JCAHO, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in drills and preparedness activities.
  • Facilitate communication across care levels and serve as a key contact for patient care coordination.
  • Use tailored teaching methods considering patient demographics and diversity.
  • Support patients and caregivers in health maintenance, lifestyle improvements, and preventative care.
  • Evaluate patient progress and communicate urgent concerns to providers.
  • Participate in organizational safety initiatives, committees, continuing education, and performance improvement.
  • Function as a preceptor or charge nurse when required.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and credential verification.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a clinic setting, with experience within the last year.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
