RN Charge Nurse (NICU) - Traveler
Location: Lynwood, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Job Description
- Charge Nurse role in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Must have NICU experience and leadership experience
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
- NICU experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Professional Credentials
- Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history (required at offer acceptance)
- Two professional references required, including one from a manager or direct supervisor
- Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
- Completion of sexual harassment prevention training valid for 2 years
- Completion of orientation packet and education verification (diploma or transcripts accepted)
- Criminal background check within one year of start date
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
- Agency attestation form completed after all credentials are uploaded
- Excluded Individual search (SAM/EPLS) completed with visible date
Certifications & Exams
- BLS certification
- Specialty exam with minimum score of 80% (can be completed via Relias or similar platforms)
- Core competencies exam with minimum score of 80%
- Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP)
- Annual color-blind test
- Prime skills checklist
Health & Immunizations
- COVID-19 vaccination: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination
- MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination
- Influenza vaccine or declination (required November 1 - March 31)
- TB test within one year of start date
- Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
- Tdap vaccination (declination not accepted in some states)
- Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work
Drug Screening
- Drug screen within 60 days of start (minimum 10-panel including THC)
- For California: 10-panel urine drug screen excluding THC plus psychoactive THC saliva test
Other
- Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required for identification
- Annual respirator fit test (3M 1860(s) mask accepted unless otherwise directed)
Additional Notes
- Orientation paperwork provided on first scheduled shift to complete onsite
- Some optional documents include notarized name affidavit for name discrepancies
