Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lebanon, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Mids/Nights (12pm-12am or 7pm-7am)
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one holiday during the contract
- Floating: May be required to float between two ER locations (one is 20 minutes from main ER) and take call at an additional center
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Locals: Accepted if within 50-mile radius
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
License Requirements
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Indiana
- Pending licenses are not accepted
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, and international criminal checks (if applicable)
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Transcript/Diploma verification required
- Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (3M 1860R or 1860S masks only; no PAPRs; no full beards)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, renewed annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters may be required)
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: titer, 2 vaccines, history of chickenpox, or declination/booster as applicable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
- Two professional references required
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams (medication/pharmacology, color blindness, other as applicable)
Additional Notes
- No parking cost at facility
- Charting system: Meditech Expanse
- Must be able to work in a short-term acute care hospital setting with 104 staffed beds
This position requires a highly qualified ER Registered Nurse with specific certifications and the ability to float between locations and work holidays. Prior travel experience is not mandatory, and first-time travelers are welcome.
