Job Overview

• Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
• Location: Savannah, GA
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (10-hour shifts, flexible start between 6:00-6:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call: Required (one weekday per week, one weekend per 5 weeks) with a 30-minute response time
• Floating: Occasionally between two main ORs; no ambulatory surgery float
• Orientation: One week total (initial educator meeting plus 2-3 days with a nurse in the department)
• Dress Code: Navy blue or Ceil blue scrubs (not provided)
• Work Environment: Smoke-free, faith-based hospital

Unit Details

• Number of OR Suites: 19
• Average Cases per Day: 30-40
• Common Case Types: General, Vascular, Robotic surgeries
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS Certification required
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• At least one previous travel assignment completed
• Versatility in multiple service lines
• Experience in Vascular Surgery

• Local candidate rule: Travelers must live at least 101 miles from the facility to be considered
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor duties include managing day and evening shifts and weekend coverage, involving case booking and patient prep
• Breaks: 15-minute morning break and 30-minute lunch break provided
• Scheduling: 4x10 shifts with call responsibilities
