Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 2:45 PM – 3:15 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
- Emergency Department (ED) setting
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Patient ratio approximately 1:4
- Equipment includes ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, and handheld Care Aware devices
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems: Omnicell, Cerner FirstNet, SBAR
- Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
- No Pediatric ICU on site; pediatric critical patients are transferred out
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience caring for ventilated patients
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Care for a wide range of patients including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Manage non-trauma emergency cases and triage patients effectively
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Care for ventilated patients
- Float to ED holding area as needed

- No weekend off guarantee, but efforts made to provide a fair schedule

- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
