Description
Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: May 18, 2026
Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday (5x8 hours)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (or 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM depending on needs)
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Work Days: No weekends; holidays as scheduled
Job Description
- Oversee guardianships, complex medical cases, placements, and social situations.
- Manage approximately 15 inpatient cases daily.
- Provide and coordinate medical home care, placement, and social wrap-around services to ensure safe discharges.
- Floating between two nearby facilities (within a 10-mile radius) may be required.
- Attire: Business casual.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Minimum 3 years of Case Management experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience in Acute Care and Inpatient settings.
Certifications & Competencies (As Applicable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training may be required; often completed during orientation.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams, age-specific competency exams, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required within 1 year of start.
- Color Blind Testing required.
- NIH Stroke Certification required for RNs except OR, PACU, Case Managers, and Family Birth Pavilion; must be updated annually.
- Facility-specific competency exams may apply.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted).
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children; full vaccination required for ER, Pediatrics, Family Birthplace, Nursery/NICU)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted; series not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (for 2025-26 season)
- Tuberculosis screening: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year, or 2-step PPD as applicable; must be updated annually.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required for this location; medical/religious exemptions accepted if required elsewhere.
Background & Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; must be updated annually.
- Employment history verification for the past 5 years.
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or charge nurse.
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- I9 or attestation required prior to start.
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start.
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, dress code review, appearance standards, and job description acknowledgment must be completed prior to start.
- Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
Additional Information
- Floating between two facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required.
- Candidate must be prepared to work holidays as scheduled.
- Orientation includes completion of required training and competency assessments.
- Facility requires review and signing of multiple policies and agreements prior to start.
This position is ideal for experienced inpatient RNs interested in case management with a focus on complex medical and social care coordination in a hospital setting. First-time travel nurses with the required inpatient experience are welcome to apply.
