    Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Outpatient

    Work Schedule

    • Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
    • Workdays: Thursday through Monday or Sunday through Thursday

    Job Description

    • Provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
    • Work primarily in outpatient pediatric settings with some adult acute rehab evaluations and treatments on weekend days.
    • Occasional home health visits.
    • Work across inpatient/acute rehab unit (IP/ARU) and outpatient (OP) settings.
    • Gain cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent assessment, monitoring, and communication.
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
    • Assist with clinical supervision of assistants and aides.
    • Serve as a clinical instructor for assigned students.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
    • Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
    • Various federal and state screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List (if FACIS III cannot be run).
    • Education verification required (highest level achieved).
    • Official transcripts/diplomas may be requested if verification attempts are unsuccessful.
    • TB screening questionnaire and negative TB test or chest x-ray required.
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
    • Immunizations required or proof of immunity for: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law).
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30).
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start.
    • References: 2 professional references within 3 years required.
    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days must be documented and verified.

    Additional Requirements

    • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and general regulatory orientation prior to start.
    • Completion of a skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
    • Compliance with facility policies such as parking and dress code.
    • Candidates requesting religious exemptions for vaccines or facial hair must complete specific accommodation forms and receive approval.
