Description
Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Summary
- Work in a Step Down unit with patient ratios:
- 3:1 ratio in Step Down
- 5:1 ratio on day shift
- 6:1 ratio on night shift
- Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessments, care planning, and teamwork/communication.
- Physical demands: pushing, pulling, lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- 8 hours of Stroke Training (including NIHSS component)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Must complete all onboarding requirements prior to start.
- Annual requirements include physical exam, fit test, TB test, and influenza vaccine or declination.
- Color headshot photo required for onboarding.
