Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Santa Monica, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Acute Care Hospital with 266 staffed beds
- Beachside location
- Charting system: Epic
- RN scrub color: Navy Blue
- Parking available (fees apply)
Schedule & Shift Details
- Shift: Day, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Total hours per week: 36
- On-call requirements:
- 2 primary weekday calls (10:30 PM – 6:00 AM) in a 6-week call cycle
- 2 secondary weekday calls (10:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
- 2 primary weekend calls (one 12-hour day shift, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) on Saturday or Sunday
- 2 secondary weekend calls (one 12-hour day shift, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) on Saturday or Sunday
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
- Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates (RespSafety questionnaire)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, sex offender registry, education verification, and other state-specific checks
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable to specialty and unit
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with facility float policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:
- Regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules (e.g., ER, L&D, Leadership roles)
- Regional and facility-specific modules as assigned
- Epic training modules completion required for access to electronic health records
- Fit mask testing required onsite or valid record within 1 year (annual update)
- Adherence to all state-specific and facility-specific background and credentialing requirements
Notes
- This position is not open to first-time travel nurses.
- All documentation and compliance requirements must be met prior to start.
- Facility uses Epic for charting; proficiency preferred.
- On-call duties are mandatory and scheduled within a 6-week cycle.
- Parking is available but at a cost.
