Description
Cath Lab Technologist - North Dakota (Bismarck)
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, plus call
- Call Requirements:
- 1-2 weeknight calls per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every third weekend on call (Friday to Monday morning, 24-hour coverage)
- Every other holiday on call
- Call response time: 20 minutes
- Orientation: One week of unit/department-specific classroom and lab training
- Floating: May assist in Heart and Vascular Pre/Post areas
Work Environment
- Number of labs: 3
- Average cases per day: 4
- Common procedures: Emergent Revascularization, Left and Right Heart Catheterization (LHC, RHC), Peripheral Diagnostic/Interventional, Cardioversion, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Device procedures, Pericardiocentesis, Temporary Pacemaker
- Equipment/EMR: EPIC, Philips Xper (Hemo), Siemens C-Arm, IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, 4 port manifold
- Support: Intensivist MD in-house 24/7; Charge nurse present on each shift (charge nurse does not take patient assignments)
- Scrub color/dress code: Provided
- Locker: Bring your own lock
- Hospital-designated shoes required
- Lead provided for scheduling; schedules posted 17 days in advance for 6-week periods
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT certification registered with NDMIRT
- License:
- If RCIS credentialed: No North Dakota license required; not responsible for fluoroscopy panning/activation
- If ARRT credentialed: Must hold an active North Dakota Radiologic Technologist license; may be responsible for fluoroscopy panning/activation
- Radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start
Experience & Skills
- Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist
- Preferred experience with scrubbing and/or panning fluoroscopy (majority of role is panning)
- Experience with IABP, Impella, Shockwave (preferred), Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, and 4 port manifold
- IV starts preferred but not required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with a 50-mile radius rule
- Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain health systems within the radius
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
