Description
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3 shifts per week)
- Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Must work at least every other holiday
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam; passing scores required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Telemetry experience of at least 1.5 years, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required with no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions must be approved):
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, with annual updates if applicable
- Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions require approval)
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year
Background and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required (must carry on assignment)
- Comprehensive background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search, updated annually or after breaks in service of 2+ months
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually; must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
- Nursys verification within 30 days of start
- Two professional references from within 1 year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
- Employment application with 3 years prior work history including at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area
Orientation and Facility Requirements
- Completion of online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
- Modules include facility-specific training and must be completed fully before clearance to start
- Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background)
- Must complete facility-specific acknowledgment forms and pass facility-required competency exams
- Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months from previous assignment at the facility may be exempt from some orientation/testing requirements
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract or equivalent recent travel experience)
- Facility reserves the right to rotate shifts as operational needs require, but will attempt to honor preferred shifts
- Candidates must be prepared to submit all required documentation and certifications prior to or at orientation
- SafeMedicate and ECG exams are mandatory and must be passed to continue assignment
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with recent acute care experience and current certifications seeking a 13-week travel contract in Ohio.
