Description
Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel Assignment
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (8:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Thursday)
Hours per Week: 40 hours (typically five 8-hour shifts; some flexibility for four 10-hour shifts possible)

Job Description
- Circulate and scrub in the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) performing open heart and vascular procedures (both open and percutaneous).
- Assist anesthesia with induction and transport patients from pre-op to PACU or inpatient units.
- Experience with hearts and/or vascular cases is required; open heart experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with hybrid operating suites is beneficial.
- Some charge nurse responsibilities required after hours (3:00–7:00 PM or 5:00–7:00 PM).
- Weekend call coverage required (on call Friday 3:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM), with call shifts Monday through Thursday as well. No weekend shifts, only call.
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and may be asked to float to the Main OR.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license.
- Circulate and scrub experience in cardiovascular OR required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred.
- Must pass a 90% score on an open book skills exam during orientation (failure results in contract termination).
- Driver’s license required at submission to verify candidate location within a 50-mile radius.
- Must comply with fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove will result in contract termination.
- Candidates cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain large health systems within the 50-mile radius.
- COVID-19 vaccination or exemption status required at submission.
- Prior experience with EPIC within 6 months is requested but not mandatory.
- Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days or less from contract start; no additional RTO extensions allowed.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum experience circulating and scrubbing in cardiovascular OR with open heart and vascular procedures.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Additional Information
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Candidates must provide DOB, SSN, phone, email, permanent address, and vaccination status at submission.
- The position does not allow block scheduling; flexibility is essential.
- Weekend call rotation depends on the number of travelers hired (every 2nd or 3rd weekend).
