Work Schedule

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week
• 12-hour shifts (18:45 to 7:15)
• 36 hours per week

Unit Description

• Busy cardiac, surgical, and telemetry floor
• May float to other medical-surgical/telemetry units or low-acuity ICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID carried during work hours
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes; annual TB questionnaire
• N95 fit test within 1 year; no PAPR allowed
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Immunization Requirements

• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Hepatitis B: Titer or series; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Seasonal flu vaccine required annually during flu season (11/1 - 3/31); no exemptions allowed

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete an Epic test-out prior to or shortly after start; only one attempt allowed
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed before starting
• Float assignments may be required within related units

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac telemetry RNs comfortable with a fast-paced environment and who meet all certification and immunization requirements.
