Description
Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work 10-hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 4 days per week
- Weekend shifts as needed; no call on holidays
- Call may be required occasionally
- Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for
- Floating to other areas as needed
Unit Description
- Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs
- 23 prep/recovery bays
- Performs over 6,000 procedures annually including:
- Complex coronary procedures
- Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
- Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
- Pacemaker/ICD implant and explant
- Cardioversion
- Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
- Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (must be completed within 5 years; results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start)
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting (must be completed within 5 years; results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (for agency use only)
- 2 professional references within 3 years
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titers; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
- Fit testing preferred but not required
Documentation and Facility Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (no masks, sunglasses, or hats except religious headwear)
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work
- Commitment to Health & Wellness
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Non-Employee Affidavit
- Completion of required online Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start
- New hire orientation to be completed by end of first day
Additional Notes
- Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Candidate will undergo clinical pre-screening and manager interview before final approval
- Must notify if unable to comply with tobacco and fragrance-free policy
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs comfortable with advanced invasive cardiology procedures and flexible scheduling in a high-volume, specialized unit.
