Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (1.5 years is a hard stop; candidates with under 2 years may be considered depending on experience)
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
• Floating: Required to float to mother-baby unit
• Scheduling: Preferences considered but not guaranteed; block scheduling at manager discretion
• Pending License: Not accepted
• On-call: Not required

Key Job Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

• Parking: Free parking available
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs; specific colors provided for other roles

Additional Notes

• Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may float to other nearby facilities
• Must be open to working weekends and flexible scheduling to meet unit needs
• Various mandatory online training modules and regulatory requirements must be completed annually via the employer’s LMS platform
• Epic training transcripts required prior to or shortly after start
• Multiple state-specific background and license verifications may apply depending on placement

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse license for California
• NURSYS verification required as applicable

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who are comfortable with night shifts, weekend work, and have strong skills in sterile vaginal exams and fetal monitoring, with EPIC experience. Prior travel experience is not required.
