Description
Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: La Mesa, California
Employment Type: Travel Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shift
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Summary
Provide safe, therapeutic, and individualized nursing care to ICU patients and their families. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, promoting quality outcomes and serving as a patient advocate. Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage complex and high-risk clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient and family needs, prioritizing and documenting assessment data.
- Develop and implement individualized, age- and culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Evaluate patient and family progress toward goals and adjust care plans as needed.
- Identify and address patient and family educational needs using adult-learning principles.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately within the scope of practice of healthcare team members.
- Serve as a patient advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding patient rights.
- Participate in patient care conferences and document patient responses and care activities per guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Work involves 12-hour night shifts with an 8-hour daily work expectation.
