Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical) - Ohio, Beacwood
Job Details
- Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical

- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Medical/Surgical experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years required. If low titer, 1 booster required before start and 2nd booster 30 days later, with follow-up titer 6 weeks after 2nd booster.
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years required. Booster protocol same as MMR if low titer.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series (3 vaccines), at least 2 vaccines completed, or signed declination form accepted. No childhood vaccines allowed. Positive titers within 15 years accepted.
- Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years required; no declinations accepted.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (October–March). If declined, mask wearing and specific attestation forms required.
- Tuberculosis Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months required annually. If positive, clear chest X-ray (valid for 5 years) and current TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test: Annual N95 respirator fit test required within 1 year prior to start.
- Physical Exam: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
Background and Verification Requirements
- Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 6 months prior to start, including Social Security Trace, county searches for last 7 years, national criminal sweep, and sex offender registry. International background check required if not lived in U.S. for past 5 years.
- Fingerprints: Ohio residents 5+ years require Ohio BCI&I fingerprint check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check. Residents less than 5 years require Ohio BCI&I and FBI fingerprint checks. Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending, but results must be uploaded promptly.
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party required.
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified through third-party. International education requires equivalency documentation.
- I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
- OIG and Federal Exclusion Checks: Must be completed within 6 months prior to start.
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start required. Instant drug screens not accepted. New screen required if break in assignment exceeds 60 days.
- Photo ID: Non-expired government-issued photo ID required.
- Resume and References: Submission packet must include resume, 2 professional references within last 2 years, job application, and employment history form.
Competency and Skills Requirements
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start; required once upon initial hire.
- Competency Exam: Must score at least 80% on relevant department competency exam within 1 year prior to start; required once upon initial hire.
- Core Competencies: Must complete core training modules (HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics) with at least 80% passing score within 1 year prior to start; required once upon initial hire.
- Safety and Compliance Training: Completion of required safety and compliance modules prior to clearance; renewal annually.

- Badge Photo: Required headshot photo (shoulders up, plain background) in JPEG format.
- Float Pool Role: Nurse will float to various units as needed during night shifts.
- Work Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and comply with all credentialing and onboarding requirements.
