Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Labor & Delivery unit with 16 beds and approximately 40 staff members
Day shift staffing: 6 RNs (including 1 charge nurse and 1 scrub tech)
Night shift staffing: 5 RNs (including 1 charge nurse and 1 scrub tech)
Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:2, may fluctuate based on acuity
Equipment includes GE fetal monitor system
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems: CPN, Meditech

Typical Procedures

Cerclages
Versions
Cesarean sections (C-sections)
Vaginal deliveries
Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
Care of fetal demise
Epidurals
Circulating during C-sections
Care for both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with mom/baby couplet care
Comfortable caring for unblocked/unepiduralized patients
Strong collaboration skills with physicians, midwives, and doulas
