Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, approximately 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On Call: Required (average 9 days per month, including about 1 weekend per month)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• Number of Labs: 3
• Staffing:

  • 3 staff per procedure
  • Day shift: 9 staff plus supervisor
  • Night shift: 3-person call team
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Equipment: Philips
• EMR System: Meditech
• Typical Procedures: Standard diagnostic and complex interventional cases; high volume
• Work Environment: Very busy lab requiring a strong sense of urgency
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided by hospital

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Cath Lab Tech Certification (ARRT or RCIS required)
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

• The unit has a high engagement score and a collaborative team environment
• Candidates without the required certifications and experience will not be considered
• Preferred candidates have 2+ years of experience
• The role involves working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting with complex cases
