    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

    Location: Orange, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
    • Schedule: Weekends may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
    • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet recognized
    • Total Staffed Beds: 426
    • Charting System: Epic
    • Parking: Free

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
    • Completion of at least one travel assignment
    • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • AWHONN certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Ability to circulate in the Labor and Delivery setting

    Additional Requirements

    • Background Checks:
      • Must have a background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
      • Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide sex offender, education verification, and other state-specific checks
    • Health Documents:
      • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
      • Immunizations and screenings including:
        • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
        • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
        • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
        • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
        • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
        • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
        • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
      • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
      • Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
    • Competency Exams: Medication and specialty-specific competency exams as applicable
    • Skills Checklist: Annual update required for applicable units
    • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required before start

    Work Environment & Expectations

    • Experience in large hospital settings is highly preferred
    • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
    • Travel pairs are not accepted
    • Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
    • Facility may call off once per pay period (2 weeks)
    • Scrub color for RNs: Navy Blue; L&D/OR scrubs provided

    Training & Compliance

    • Completion of required WorkRamp modules annually, including:
      • Regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery
      • Regional and facility-specific training as assigned
    • Epic training modules required for access and must be completed promptly after assignment
    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities

    This is a night shift Labor and Delivery RN travel contract in Orange, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years L&D experience and prior travel experience.
