Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Danville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Shift: Rotating weekends/as needed
Call Requirements: None
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to backfill a position in a 31-bed Emergency Room with 2 triage rooms. The unit serves all age groups and includes behavioral health or acute patients. Patient ratio is typically 1:4, with exceptions during high-volume or special circumstances.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications prior to start:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training)
Unit Information
- Emergency Department with 31 beds (7 designated for behavioral health/acute patients)
- Electronic Health Records primarily MedHost (ED) and Meditech (for admit holds and behavioral health patients)
- Patient population includes all ages
- Float requirements as needed

Additional Notes
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
