• Experience in Med/Surg and Stepdown required
• Charge nurse experience is a significant plus

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver competent patient care
• Communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff

Specialty-Specific Skills

• Familiarity with central line care and management
• Foley catheter care and management
• End-of-life care and management
• Proper care for dialysis sites (e.g., avoid using HD catheters or accessing fistulas for blood draws)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in nephrology nursing
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing
• Experience in Stepdown nursing
• End-of-life care and management experience
