Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Cardiac Clinic
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care in a high-volume outpatient cardiology clinic, focusing on cardiovascular assessments and triage of patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Manage patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) such as pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices. Responsibilities include in-clinic and remote device interrogations, pre- and post-procedure care, medication management, patient education, and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cardiovascular assessments and triage patients with cardiac conditions.
- Manage cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including device interrogation and collaboration with providers to optimize programming.
- Assist with pre- and post-procedure care for device implantation, including wound care and complication monitoring.
- Administer and manage cardiac medications (anticoagulants, beta-blockers, antiarrhythmics, diuretics).
- Educate patients and families on cardiovascular disease management, device function, activity restrictions, and lifestyle modifications.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in both in-person and remote monitoring workflows.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to improve quality and patient satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program (BSN preferred).
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of recent outpatient clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Cardiac device management experience preferred.
- Acute care experience preferred.
Licensure & Certification
- Active RN license in the State of Vermont.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification (BLS - AHA).
