Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Critical Care)

Location: Washington, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Critical Care
• Shift: Nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Weekend Hours: As needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Unit Beds: 19
• Patient Ratios: Average 2-3 patients per nurse
• EMR System: EPIC
• Float Requirements: Med Surg and Telemetry units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Esmolol)
• Experience using BIPAP and Airvo devices
• Stroke patient care experience

Skills & Experience

• Experience with critical care nursing including:

  • Post Stroke care
  • Titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Esmolol)
  • Use of Bipap and Airvo devices
  • Recognizing deteriorating patients
  • Managing ventilated compressors
• Preferred: Medical calculation skills

Patient Population

• Medical, basic cardiac, and neurological patients

Work Environment & Culture

• Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
• Dress code requires professional scrubs (black scrubs); hoodies are not allowed
