Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Critical Care)
Location: Washington, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Critical Care
- Shift: Nights
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Weekend Hours: As needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Unit Beds: 19
- Patient Ratios: Average 2-3 patients per nurse
- EMR System: EPIC
- Float Requirements: Med Surg and Telemetry units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Esmolol)
- Experience using BIPAP and Airvo devices
- Stroke patient care experience
Skills & Experience
- Experience with critical care nursing including:
- Post Stroke care
- Titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Esmolol)
- Use of Bipap and Airvo devices
- Recognizing deteriorating patients
- Managing ventilated compressors
- Preferred: Medical calculation skills
Patient Population
- Medical, basic cardiac, and neurological patients
Work Environment & Culture
- Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
- Dress code requires professional scrubs (black scrubs); hoodies are not allowed
Additional Information
- The hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke and STEMI Center
- Recognized for high-quality care and safety standards
- Located approximately 50 miles southwest of St. Louis, serving a broad regional population
