Respiratory Therapist Job Opportunity
Location: Albany, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Assess, treat, and care for patients of all ages with pulmonary (breathing) disorders.
- Perform diagnostic testing and relevant exams.
- Set up and operate cardiopulmonary equipment and machines to assist or monitor patient breathing.
- Gather data to accurately assess patient health status.
- Observe, record, and report symptoms, reactions, and patient progress.
- Administer and document prescribed medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage airway care including endotracheal intubations, extubations, pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, and emergency life support.
- Provide extensive health education to patients and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
- Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
- Associate's degree or higher academic degree in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
