Description
Respiratory Therapist
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts, no call
Job Description
- Provide critical and non-critical respiratory care to patients of all ages using invasive and noninvasive cardiopulmonary techniques.
- Deliver respiratory care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Assess patient progress and response to treatments; make recommendations based on outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to hospital policies.
- Accurately document all patient information and maintain department records.
- Educate patients on disease states, wellness, home care, and safety tailored to age-specific needs.
- Precept and educate students and new staff on respiratory care roles and responsibilities.
- Consult with physicians regarding cardiopulmonary status using technical knowledge.
- Participate in in-services, meetings, and competency evaluations.
- May assume charge or team leader responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Demonstrated critical care knowledge related to cardiopulmonary disease states.
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
- Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Active membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) is preferred.
