Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Summary
- Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care in Labor & Delivery.
- Accountable for care of a group of patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Mentor and precept staff members.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and patients/families.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and support professional development.
- Apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent clinical decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized care plans.
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions.
- Provide education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
- Communicate effectively within and across departments.
- Participate in unit goal development and performance improvement.
- Recognize and address physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, cultural, and ethnic needs.
- Anticipate discharge needs and support patient/family advocacy.
- Stay informed on relevant research and evidence-based practices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM, STABLE, and C-EFM
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Acute Care nursing experience
