Description
Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Assignment
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: Must work 2 weekend shifts per month (with a weekday off following each weekend shift)
Job Description
- Provide Occupational Therapy services primarily in in-patient rehab and acute hospital settings, including neuro and orthopedic patient evaluations and treatments.
- Patient populations include neuro and ortho in-patient rehab, as well as acute care patients in orthopedic, telemetry, and ICU units.
- Documentation system used: Meditech.
- Floating to other units as needed is required (floating policy to be discussed during interview).
- Start time no later than 8:00 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Texas
- OTR Certification
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience in inpatient and rehabilitation settings
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting certification or training
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in rehab and/or acute hospital settings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Certifications in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) or brain injury rehabilitation.
Unit and Facility Guidelines
Dress code:
- Scrubs: Sage green/olive scrub top, black scrub pants, sage green scrub jacket. White or black undershirts only.
- Nails must be clean and healthy.
- Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Facial hair must be neatly trimmed.
- Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art will be addressed individually.
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
Attendance and floating policies apply and will be reviewed during onboarding.
Additional Notes
- Call requirements will be discussed during the interview.
- This is a travel assignment requiring flexibility and adaptability to floating and unit needs.
