Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location

  • Plano, Texas

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Wednesday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM shift
  • On-call shifts: 5-6 per month
  • Call options:
    • 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Monday through Thursday
    • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday night

  • Unit: Operating Room
  • Number of beds: 23
  • Number of staff: 85+
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • EMR system: Meditech
  • Floor: 1st

Staff Composition

  • Day shift includes charge nurses, coordinators, nurse managers, transport staff, RNs, CSTs, and OR assistants
  • Night shift includes charge nurse, 2 nurses, 2 CSTs, anesthesia tech, and OR assistants

  • Neuro / Spine surgeries
  • Orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and revisions
  • Robotic surgeries (gynecology, colorectal, thoracic, urology)
  • Plastic surgeries
  • Level 1 Trauma cases

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience in Orthopedics
  • Experience in Plastic Surgery
  • Experience in Trauma

Additional Information

  • Department staffed 24/7
  • Call is required
  • Dress code: Ceil blue or royal blue scrubs for nurses
  • No floating to other areas
