Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Days
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 12
Job Summary
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies.
- Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others under direction.
- Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification less than 30 days old.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (must be willing to obtain within 48 hours if offered).
- Active NIH Stroke Scale/Score (NIHSS) certification (must be willing to obtain within 48 hours if offered).
- COVID-19 vaccination required; declinations are not accepted and must be state recorded.
- Skills checklist specific to Labor & Delivery discipline.
- Resume with explanations for any gaps over 30 days.
- Two supervisory references: one from the last 6 months and one from the last 12 months.
Additional Information
- Candidates may request time off equivalent to 1 week of contracted hours, either as a continuous 7-day block or as separate hours totaling the weekly contracted hours.
- Orientations for RNs are held every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday; candidates may be considered for orientations scheduled up to 6 weeks in advance.
- Overtime starts after 48 hours worked.
- The facility is a 257 licensed bed acute and sub-acute care center with a high volume of admissions and emergency visits.

- This role requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume Labor & Delivery environment.
- Must be prepared to obtain required certifications quickly if not already held.
- COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory with no exceptions.
- Supervisory references and detailed documentation are required as part of the application process.
