Description
Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Travel Position
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in a large hospital with approximately 800 beds and a busy diagnostic imaging department.
- Unit is located on the 2nd floor, F tower.
- Department uses a variety of imaging equipment including GE Rad rooms, portable GE and Shiatzu units, OEC C-arms, and Medtronics O-arms.
- Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner Rad Net.
- Patient care includes diagnostic imaging, portable imaging, trauma imaging, fluoroscopic procedures, and surgical imaging support.
- The unit supports emergency department trauma imaging and operates in a Level II trauma center environment.
Typical Work Environment
- Day shift: ~16 technologists plus supervisor
- Evening shift: ~10 technologists, 2 student techs, plus supervisor
- Night shift: ~4 technologists plus supervisor
- Weekend rotation and on-call duties required
- Dress code: Black scrubs
Required Qualifications
- ARRT (R) Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in radiologic technology specialty
- Skills required in all areas of diagnostic radiology including portable and OR imaging
- Experience with emergency department trauma imaging is essential
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fluoroscopic procedures
- Ability to perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures including trauma and surgical imaging
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team

- The position is travel assignment with approximately 36 hours per week.
- The hospital is recognized for high clinical quality and safety standards, including Magnet® designation and top national ratings.
- The imaging department is part of a comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma center, providing advanced care services.
