Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location
- Joplin, Missouri

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift and Hours
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
- Weekend and call hours as required by the facility
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
Unit and Patient Care Information
- Telemetry unit (Stepdown/ICU level care)
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6
- Patient types include post cardiac catheterization, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, stable myocardial infarction, post heart cath interventions, medical cardiac patients, pacemaker insertion, and medical overflow
- Equipment used: IV pumps, glucometer, GE monitoring equipment, computers
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in Stepdown and ICU (Intensive Care Unit) settings
- Competency with insulin drips, precedex, titrating nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and BiPAP
Preferred Experience
- Experience with post-operative surgical patients and trauma care on Stepdown units
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- Coordinate patient care with other departments
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
- Adhere to facility mission, values, and service standards
Work Environment and Culture
- Flexible, dependable, hardworking, and strong teamwork skills required
- Dress code: Black scrubs or approved M-wear only
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- Assignment is auto-offer with flexible contract length options between 8-26 weeks
- Return to work (RTO) within 5 days or less requires making up the week on the back end
- Blocked scheduling requires facility approval
