Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves working primarily in a two-room Cath Lab with one room focused on Electrophysiology (EP) and the other on interventional cardiology (no structural heart or open heart procedures).
Work Schedule
- Shift: Day shift, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per week: 36
- Call:
- Approximately 1 weekend call every 3-5 weeks (Friday 6:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM)
- 1-2 weeknights per week on call, depending on staffing needs
- Holiday call on a 4-person team, 24-hour coverage
- Call response time: 30 minutes
Unit & Team
- Cath Lab with 2 suites/labs (1 mostly EP, 1 fully interventional)
- Average 8 cases per day
- Team: 3-person team for regular cases (1 RN, 2 techs), 4-person team for STEMI and call (2 RNs, 2 techs)
- Cath Lab Techs: 2 techs per case (RT and scrub roles interchangeable)
- Permanent RN Manager and rotating charge RN Monday-Friday
- Possible floating to nearby regional facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
Skills & Experience
- EP experience is a plus but not required; no EP room assignment without prior EP experience
- All RNs must be able to sedate patients; scrubbing is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with Maclab and some Cerner EMR systems preferred
Orientation & Training
- Approximately 3 days of unit-specific orientation
- Study guides provided for dysrhythmia exam and Sim Lab
Additional Notes
- Candidates cannot have worked in any acute care hospital in Arizona as permanent or PRN staff within the past 12 months
- Hospital scrubs provided
