Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Call Requirement: Minimum 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend on call (may include being on call on a day off)
  • Daily Census: 5-7 patients

Required Skills & Procedures

  • Circulating nurse duties
  • Conscious sedation administration
  • Cardiac procedures: Left and Right Heart Catheterization (LHC, RHC), balloon pumps, temporary and permanent pacers/defibrillators, pericardial effusion management, STEMI call response
  • Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures: venous access, drain placements, GI tube insertion
  • Other procedures: Pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT) management, Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS), portal vein (PV) procedures, fistula work, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), prostate embolization, GI/postpartum/internal bleed management

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Scrub experience
  • Conscious sedation experience

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months with approved respirators (3M N95 models or Honeywell N95)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted; history of disease not accepted
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended but not required
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
  • Tuberculosis screening: Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year; if positive, chest X-ray and documentation required
  • Color blindness exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
  • Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
  • Employment references: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles, verified within 2 years
  • Skills checklist and competency exams required annually

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport required (clear copy)
  • Facility-specific orientation and compliance documents must be completed prior to start
  • Block scheduling details to be determined
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position
