    Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Oakland, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Day (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)


    Job Description

    • Full-time physical therapist position covering maternity leave in acute rehabilitation.
    • Must have experience working with neuro patients.
    • Requires experience in hospital acute care or inpatient acute rehabilitation settings.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Physical Therapist license in California.
    • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Experience in Acute Care, Inpatient, and Rehabilitation settings.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
    • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
    • Education verification required unless highest education is high school.
    • Sex offender search must be run within 90 days of start.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance to work.
    • TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing with annual renewal.
    • Immunizations:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination as required.
      • Hepatitis B series or declination.
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination as required.
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
    • Fit test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually. Religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually (not applicable to some non-clinical roles).

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
      • Job description acknowledgment
      • Standards of business conduct
      • Confidentiality agreements
      • Report of abuse
      • HIPAA agreement
      • Orientation booklet and post-test
      • Vendor training and code of conduct (for contracts signed 5/31/24 and beyond)
    • Complete facility-specific competency documents related to inpatient rehab and neuro patient care as applicable.

    Employment History and References

    • Must provide a full 7 years of work history with no gaps, including city and state of employment.
    • Employment verification required for up to 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
    • Two professional references required within 3 years for clinical and allied health candidates.

    Additional Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, and other certifications are not listed as required for this PT role.
    • Medication or pharmacology competency exams may be required as applicable.
