Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Nights)

Location: Rock Island, Illinois
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:5-6.
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts.
• Required to work 1-2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac step-down nursing experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of application.
• License verification and copy of required certifications.
• One supervisory reference required at time of submission.
• Work history/resume required.
• Must have a taxable address outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.
• Not employed by this health system within the last 12 months.

Orientation

• Orientation dates available throughout the year, including multiple dates in January through December.

Work Hours & Scheduling

• 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours.
• 48 hours per week; overtime billable after 48 hours.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts.

Additional Information

• First-time travel nurses are accepted.
• The facility uses EPIC as the electronic medical record system.
• The position is at a Level 1 trauma center.
• Pay multipliers apply for overtime, holidays, call back, and charge/precept shifts (details withheld).

Summary

This is a temporary night shift Registered Nurse position on a medical-surgical unit with a focus on cardiac step-down patients. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and a valid RN license. The assignment includes floating within the discipline across local campuses and working some summer holidays. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
