Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse
Location: Novato, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Registered Nurse needed for Infusion/Chemotherapy department.
- Role supports program growth and expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California.
- Minimum of one year of infusion experience, with infusion experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
- Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
- Sex offender search must be run within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law).
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
Certifications and Competencies
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC only).
- ONS/ONCC Certification.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics (e.g., PALS, CCRN, TNCC) – verify as applicable.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be renewed annually.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required).
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime TDAP with booster within 10 years.
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing as specified; must be renewed annually.
- Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination with mask-wearing requirement.
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids).
Facility-Specific Documents and Training
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, overpayment refund policy, and vendor training documents prior to start.
- TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and vaccine exemptions; approvals handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Epic questionnaire required for RNs starting 11/3/2025 and onward.
Additional Information
- Must provide 2 professional references within 3 years for clinical positions.
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge (per diem only).
- Personal or auto insurance only required for driving positions.
